Guided – Austria – Why We Tour

The Views Are Better When They’re Shared

The silence at a viewpoint usually says more than any review could.

One of the best parts of leading our guided motorcycle tours in Europe is watching somebody experience one of our favourite roads, mountain passes or viewpoints for the first time.

There’s often a moment when the bikes are switched off, helmets come off and everyone simply takes in where they are. After hours of incredible riding, sometimes there isn’t much that needs to be said.

More Than a Motorcycle Tour

The group experience is a big part of every OCRR tour.

You start the day talking about bikes, routes and the road ahead. Then somewhere between a mountain pass, a sweeping stretch of tarmac and a coffee stop, you realise you’re sharing an experience you’ll all remember.

It’s one of the things that makes a guided European motorcycle tour so different from simply following a route on your own.

You’re riding alongside people who came for the same reason you did. They want great roads, incredible scenery and the freedom that comes with exploring Europe on two wheels.

By the end of the tour, it’s rarely just the famous roads people are talking about. It’s the unexpected coffee stop, the road nobody had heard of, the view that appeared around a bend or the conversations over dinner at the end of a long day’s riding.

Discovering Europe Together

Europe offers some extraordinary places to explore by motorcycle.

Mountain passes climb through dramatic landscapes, quieter roads wind through countryside and small towns, and sometimes the route itself delivers views that make everyone want to pull over for a few minutes.

Our guided motorcycle tours in Europe are designed around those experiences.

It isn’t simply about travelling from one destination to the next. The roads between them matter.

We choose routes that give riders the chance to experience brilliant riding alongside the landscapes, stops and destinations that make a European motorcycle tour memorable.

The Benefit of a Guided Motorcycle Tour

Planning a motorcycle trip through Europe can be part of the fun, but it can also take a lot of time.

Choosing routes, working out realistic daily distances, finding good places to stop and deciding which roads are genuinely worth riding all takes research.

A guided tour allows you to leave much of that behind.

With an experienced tour leader who knows the route, you can concentrate on the reason you came: riding your motorcycle and enjoying the journey.

You still experience the freedom of touring, but without having to spend every evening working out where you’re going the following morning.

Great Roads Create Great Memories

Ask a group of riders what they remember most from a motorcycle tour and you’ll rarely get the same answer.

For one person, it might be finally riding a mountain pass they have wanted to experience for years. For another, it could be an unexpected road that turned out to be the best ride of the trip.

Sometimes it isn’t the road at all.

It’s stopping at a viewpoint and looking back at the route you have just ridden. It’s laughing about the day over dinner. It’s sharing photographs, stories and those little moments that only make sense to the people who were there.

That shared experience is difficult to recreate when travelling alone.
